As I was preparing some images for a display I have going up in a local business, I was smacked with the realization that, even though I have had a very busy year so far in 2008, I have not photographed ONE child older than two so far this year (other than siblings of newborns)! NOT ONE! How did that happen? Somehow, since reopening business here after my move from Houston, I became almost completely a pregnancy and baby photographer. It just happened!
So to add some fresh faces to my portfolio of children's portraits, I am making the following offer. I will waive my session fee for the next TEN clients who bring in a child aged THREE or older to be photographed. That means 100% of your $225 reservation fee will go toward prints (usually $100 goes toward print purchases). Now, the session has to be for a child three years old or older, not a sibling of a newborn (ha, ha..I KNEW some of you were thinking of trying that!). And you'd need to have your session photographed before the huge holiday rush, which starts Oct. 1st. But other than that, no catches!
Having professional portraits made of preschoolers and even the school-age child is something I know too often we let slip past us. We think we have time since their appearances are changing more gradually now. But listen to this mom of a rising second-grader, it slips by you faster than you expect! Before you know it, those baby teeth are falling out, those chubby cheeks are thinning out, those short little legs are growing long and wiry, and suddenly you can no longer see any traces of the baby that was once there.
So if it's been way too long since your preschooler or school-age child has had really great portraits done, this is the perfect time to capture this stage before it is too late!
Blair, you are so right...reminds me of my favorite quote "the days are long, but the years are short". How nice of you to offer this opportunity!
